If the piece is already clean and simply broken, there is no need to wash it entirely.
Instead, clean only the damaged area using benzine or ethanol to remove any grease or residue.
If oil, dust, or moisture remains on the surface, L’urushi will not adhere properly, and the bonding strength will be weakened.
Take your time to clean the area carefully.
If you do wash the object with water, make sure to wipe off all moisture thoroughly and allow it to dry completely.
As a general guideline, porcelain should be dried for 2–3 days, while ceramics should be left in a well-ventilated area for about one week to ensure they are fully dry.
