I moved to France in 2008 and spent 15 years there.
Today, I am based between Japan and France, working as a designer for over 25 years, connecting the cultures of both countries.
My journey began with a cracked antique plate I discovered at a flea market in France.
In that imperfect form, I found a quiet beauty — where the European appreciation for aged objects and the Japanese art of kintsugi, which transforms damage into beauty, naturally came together within me.
“Bringing together European tradition and Japanese kintsugi, I aim to create a new form of beauty and share it with the world.”
Driven by this vision, I deepened my understanding of traditional Japanese techniques by studying urushi in Kyoto.
Today, I collaborate with a trusted urushi artisan, carrying out authentic restorations using natural lacquer and traditional kintsugi methods.
Fleurir means “to bloom” in French.
By merging vessels from around the world with Japanese tradition, I bring new stories to life through each piece.
